The IYOP provides immigrant youth with opportunities to learn key marketable and transferrable skills they need to succeed.
IYOP connects immigrant youth to resources and network they need to achieve success while providing them with opportunities to learn value of diversity and civic participation to empower local communities through volunteerism.
IYOP will focus on:
Immigrant Youth will learn key entrepreneurial skills to cope with life in the real world such as financial literacy (how money works), insurance, public speaking skills, business and leadership, and networking.
Helping Immigrant Youth learn new ways to generate ideas, create new things or to improve existing ones through versatile games, activities, contests, presentations, workshops, fieldtrips, camps. Immigrant Youth will be encouraged to be curious, challenged to try new things, to start new hobbies and pursue their interests.
This will foster and encourage creativity and idea generation. They will learn skills such as photography, video production, writing, software development.
IYOP gives to Immigrant Youth opportunities to learn value of diversity and civic participation to make a lasting positive difference in local and international communities.
IYOP will initiate opportunities for Immigrant and Canadian Youth to meet, learn, socialize, and learn from one another.
Beyond the satisfaction of making a positive difference in the community, IYOP aims to equip immigrant youth with opportunities to pursue new challenges, learn new skills, and gain useful work experiences that will impart transferrable skills, useful in job market.
HOA strongly values hard work, work ethic and civic participation. The Excellence and Achievement Program will acknowledge and award immigrant youth who will excel in different areas such as volunteerism, national tests, HOA programs and any other achievements at HOA’s discretion.
